This interdisciplinary Programme, offered in Lisbon and fully taught in English, combines conflict studies and peace research with international relations, politics and diplomacy to address today’s global challenges - new wars, migration, climate change, inclusive institution building and sustainable justice.
The Programme focuses on how to transform conflicts into sustainable dialogue, in a world marked by growing geopolitical complexity. By introducing innovative approaches to foster peace, it blends theoretical knowledge with immersive activities, practical insights and skills.
Personalised Teaching Method
With a limited number of students, this Master's Programme fosters a close relationship between faculty and students, promoting a teaching approach that encourages discussion, active participation among students and the development of competent and creative professional skills.
This Programme is designed to distinguish its students both nationally and internationally by providing academic contact with foreign Professors and practices of the highest international standard. Through workshops, international seminars, Erasmus and other student exchanges, it opens up to new horizons on this field.
Profissional Paths
The Institute for Political Studies provides students with pragmatic, case-study and scientific oriented training that responds to the demands of today's world and that leads to possible paths such as: political careers at regional, national and international level, a career in international organisations, NGOs, humanitarian aid, diplomacy, communication, culture and intercultural dialogue and politics and international relations.
