Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution and Strategies for Peace

Program Description

Offered in Lisbon, Portugal and taught in English, this interdisciplinary program blends conflict studies and peace research with international relations, politics and diplomacy to address today’s global challenges - conflict geographies, new wars, migration, climate change, inclusive institution building and sustainable justice.

The program focuses on how to transform conflicts in a world marked by growing complexity into dialogue and concrete solution-finding introducing, innovative approaches to foster just peace, blending theoretical knowledge with immersive activities, practical insights and skills.


Personalised Teaching Method

With a limited number of students, we foster a close relationship between faculty and students, promoting a teaching approach that encourages discussion and active participation among master’s students.

This Master's programme is designed to make its students stand out both nationally and internationally by providing academic contact with teachers and practices of the highest international standard. As well as maintaining a large influx of foreign professors coming to teach at the EC since its inception, IEP has also been keen to provide students with an international academic experience through Erasmus and other student exchanges.


Profissional Paths

The Institute of Political Studies provides all those who choose it with appropriate technical and scientific training that opens this possible paths: competent and creative professional practice, within a framework that responds to the demands of today's world: political careers at a national or regional level - counsellors, advisors, etc. A diplomatic career, communication in politics, international relations at a business level, careers in the area of security and defence, international organisations, etc.
