Political Science: Governance and International Relations (Mozambique)
Global Rationale

The Catholic University of Mozambique (UCM), mindful of the need for sociopolitical development and committed to promoting the values of justice, peace, and reconciliation, offers the Master’s Degree in Political Science: Governance and International Relations in partnership with the Institute for Political Studies of the Catholic University of Portugal (IEP-UCP).

The Postgraduate and Master’s Programme in Political Science: Governance and International Relations, in operation since 2015, has established itself as an academic reference in the field. In 2024, it also began operating at the Maputo campus, currently enrolling 65 students.

Mozambique is undergoing a process of democratic consolidation, in which the strengthening of national identity and sense of belonging constitutes an essential element for advancing its integration within the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

This programme has contributed significantly to that purpose, having already demonstrated its impact through the success of five previous editions of the Master’s in Political Science: Governance and International Relations, held at the Maputo campus and in the cities of Beira (two editions), Nampula, and Quelimane (two editions).
