On November 7, Director of LED, William Hasselberger, presented a talk entitled "AI and Relational Ethics" at the Encontro do Serviço de Psiquiatria e Saúde Mental da Infância e Adolescência, at the Uniao Geral dos Trabalhadores (UGT).

The 2-day event gathered practicing clinical psychologists, therapists, and psychiatrists to debate the most pressing challenges for young people's mental health, including the effects of digital technologies.

CIEP and the Laboratory of Ethics and Digital Politics (LED) play a leading role in addressing the challenges posed by Artificial Intelligence from a Political Science perspective. As interdisciplinary research teams, they explore the political, ethical, social, and governance implications of AI, contributing to critical debates on democracy, public policy, human agency, and technological power. By combining rigorous theoretical research with applied analysis, CIEP and LED position themselves as pioneers in this field, fostering innovative approaches that place human values, responsibility, and democratic principles at the centre of digital transformation.
