We offer five Master’s programmes:
- Master’s in Public Policy (taught in Portuguese)
- Master’s in Political Science and International Relations: Security and Defense (taught in Portuguese)
- MA in Governance, Leadership and Democracy Studies (taught fully in English)

- MA in Conflict Resolution and Strategies for Peace (taught fully in English)
What are the main components of these programmes?
Master’s degrees typically span one and a half to two years, suitable for holders of bachelor’s degrees in fields such as Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration, Law, Economics, Sociology, and other social sciences and humanities.
The programmes offered in Portuguese focus on public policy, governance, security, and defense, while the English-taught Master’s provide an international education in democratic governance, political leadership, European studies, and transatlantic relations.
The Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations: Security and Defence has a duration of two years (three academic semesters and one thesis semester).
The Master’s degree in Public Policy has a duration of one and a half years (two academic semesters and one semester dedicated to a thesis, project work, or internship).
The English-taught Master’s correspond to a timeframe of one and a half years, comprising two academic semesters and one thesis semester. During the thesis semester, physical presence in Lisbon is not required; however, the thesis defence must be conducted in person.
