Discover IEP!
Throughout their academic journey at IEP-Católica, students are encouraged to engage in multiple initiatives that allow them to gain experience and develop new skills. In addition to conferences, seminars, and workshops held throughout the year, flagship activities such as the Estoril Political Forum, the Summer School, and the Lecture Series with international guests stand out, enriching students’ daily academic life.
Students also have the opportunity to connect with the institutional and professional world, through visits to bodies such as the Portuguese Parliament, participation in political simulation programs, and direct interaction with experts and decision-makers — experiences that contribute to a solid and applied education.
The AAIEP (Academic Association of the Institute for Political Studies) has the following goals:
- To represent IEP-UCP students and defend their interests within and outside the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP);
- To promote the integration and participation of IEP-UCP students in the academic life of IEP-UCP and UCP;
- To contribute to the civic, physical, cultural, and scientific development of IEP-UCP students;
- To foster connections between IEP-UCP students and the non-academic world;
- To strengthen the bonds among all UCP students.

To all the Institute's academic community:
From the first moment we are IEPians, the Institute, with its excellent teaching and professors who "present themselves as students" and make us question everything we thought we were sure of, makes us feel at home and welcomes us as students, conscious citizens and future leaders.
In this new world marked by the pandemic and expectations of the future, the AAIEP assumes the fundamental role, if not the moral and reputational duty, of being the example in the conduct of a dynamic, honest and honest academic and associative life. After all, human formation never ends in university halls.
