The re-edition of Lieutenant General Cabral Couto's book ‘Elements of Strategy’ was presented at two important ceremonies, on different dates and in different locations.
On 4 July, in Lisbon, the Military University Institute (IUM), together with the Casa Carvalho Cerqueira Foundation and the Institute of Political Studies of the Catholic University, hosted the first session, where the Director of the Institute of Political Studies of the Catholic University (IEP-Católica), Prof. Mónica Dias, spoke briefly, praising the book's relevance to the study of military and political strategy.
On 10 October, the re-edition was presented in Luanda, Angola, at a ceremony held at the Escola Superior de Guerra, sponsored by the Casa Carvalho Cerqueira Foundation. The event was attended by the Minister of State and Head of the Security House of the President of the Republic, General Furtado. Representing the IEP-Catholic was Prof Francisco Proença Garcia, who emphasised the historical and contemporary impact of Cabral Couto's work.
The ceremonies, both in Lisbon and Luanda, were attended by various civilian and military organisations, reinforcing the importance of this launch in the context of national and international strategy and security.
The re-edition of the book reaffirms its relevance and topicality, and is a significant milestone for strategic thinking in the Portuguese-speaking world.
