Aldino Campos is has a degree in Naval Military Sciences - Navy, from the Naval Academy (1992). He worked on several ships of the squadron until 1995, when he graduated from the Hydrographic Institute and obtained specialization in hydrography (1996). He worked as a hydrographer in several hydrographic and geodesic missions on the continent and in the autonomous regions (1996-1999). Between 1999 and 2001 he attended the Master of Engineering in Geodesy and Geomatic Engineering at the University of New Brunswick, Canada, having completed his studies in the area of geospatial information management. He returns to the Hydrographic Institute and completes the course of Hydrographic Engineer at the Center for Technical-Scientific Data. He successfully attended the General Course of Naval War at the Instituto Superior Naval de Guerra (2003-2004). Between 2004 and 2006 he developed his activity as a spatial data analyst with special focus on the area of bathymetric data management, accumulating himself with teaching activity at the School of Hydrography and Oceanography and the Naval Academy. He was also a guest professor of the Geographical Engineering course of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, of the disciplines of hydrography and Geographic Information Systems, and external collaborator in the Mission Structure for the Extension of the Continental Shelf (EMEPC). In 2007 he began his duties as coordinator of the EMEPC Geography Office advising the areas of Geographic Information Systems, hydrography and geodesy in the process of Extension of the Continental Shelf of Portugal. He completed his PhD in Territorial Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, in the scientific area of the process of extension of the continental shelf (2009). He has been Vice-President of the Board of EMEPC since November 1, 2012, having been at the head of this Mission Structure between October 2013 and May 2016. He was a professor at the Naval Academy between 2009 and 2021 of the disciplines of Geographic Information Systems, Geographic Information Elements and Geospatial Information Management. He also holds a PhD in International Relations from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the New University of Lisbon (2021), in the area of Global Ocean Governance. He is a researcher at the Centre for Naval Research (CINAV) and the Portuguese Institute of International Relations (IPRI). In June 2017 he was elected in the Assembly of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea to the position of member of the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (United Nations) for the 2017-2022 term. He is currently a candidate for the 2022-2028 term on the same Commission
