Presentation and Framework
The Advanced Programme in Strategy, Leadership and Geopolitics of the Institute of Political Studies of the Catholic University of Portugal offers excellent training for professionals who wish to improve their strategic and leadership skills in an increasingly unstable international scenario marked by transformations.
In this context of increasing volatility in global political and economic systems, with geopolitical conflicts in various parts of the world and the rise of new power dynamics, it is essential that leaders are prepared to understand and respond effectively to these challenges.
This programme has been developed with the aim of providing participants with a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the main international issues, such as tensions between major powers, migratory crises, the scramble for resources and the threats of disinformation and cybersecurity. Through a solid and innovative curriculum, the course combines the analysis of classic works of political and strategic theory with a close look at contemporary issues, allowing participants to acquire the necessary tools to act with strategic vision and effective leadership in times of uncertainty.
In addition, the Advanced Programme in Strategy and Leadership offers its participants the opportunity to reflect on the challenges posed by the current world order, update their knowledge, develop crisis management skills and build a leadership profile prepared to make informed decisions in contexts of high risk and instability.
The training offered by the Institute of Political Studies is aimed not only at the personal development of its participants, but also at contributing to the construction of more effective and resilient solutions to better serve society and the organisations and institutions that underpin it.
Objectives
To enable participants to gain an in-depth understanding of current geopolitical and strategic dynamics.
Prepare participants to exercise effective leadership in scenarios of high uncertainty and instability, with a focus on contemporary global adversities such as geopolitical conflicts, the migration crisis and cybersecurity.
To provide solid theoretical training, combining the teachings of classic political and strategic theory with contemporary approaches, promoting critical reflection on the application of these theories to crisis management and the development of effective strategies in current contexts.
Equip participants with the tools and methodologies needed to make informed and effective decisions in highly complex and risky environments, with a particular focus on the strategic management of organisations and institutions in the face of global challenges.
Promote the development of a comprehensive, long-term strategic vision, enabling participants to lead organisations in a resilient, adaptive and innovative way, anticipating change and responding effectively to volatile and unpredictable global scenarios.
Develop a network of contacts with various agents and decision-makers in the field of Security Studies.
