Lívia Franco is Professor and Senior Researcher at the Institute for Political Studies at the Catholic University of Portugal (IEP-UCP) and Associate Researcher at the pan-european think-tank European Center for Foreign Relations (ECFR). Her areas of interest include Contemporary International Politics, Portuguese Foreign Policy, European Politics and Democracy Studies. She has authored, edited and translated numerous articles and books in these areas.
Lívia Franco earned her PhD in Political Science at IEP-UCP and her MA in International Relations from Leuven University (Belgium). She was a Fulbright PhD student at Boston College and a FLAD visiting scholar at Brown University and will be FLAD Visiting Professor at Georgetown University (USA) during the 2021 Fall Semester.
Lívia Franco regularly serves as commentator on International Affairs and Portuguese Foreign Policy in all major national media outlets and other international media.
