Annual International Meeting on Political Studies
The Institute for Political Studies will host the 34th edition of the Estoril Political Forum from 1 to 3 June 2026, at the Hotel Palácio Estoril.
Under the theme “Independence in an Interdependent World – Celebrating the 250 Years of the Declaration of Independence”, the 2026 Forum will bring together a wide range of international experts, academics, and policymakers to reflect on contemporary challenges related to political independence, sovereignty, and global cooperation.

Maintaining its strong international dimension, the Estoril Political Forum continues to strengthen the IEP’s global network through partnerships with institutions such as the EUROPAEUM (Oxford), the European Partnership for Democracy (Brussels), Forum 2000 Foundation (Prague), the National Endowment for Democracy (Washington, D.C.), and Transform4Europe – European University Alliance.
The event is supported by several institutional partners, including the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), the Association of Women Ambassadors (AWA), the Fundação Amélia de Mello, and the Embassy of Poland in Lisbon.
