CIEP & LED will host Ken Archer, a philosopher who leads Responsible AI at Microsoft and previously led Responsible AI at Twitch. He is also a researcher in Philosophy, Cognitive Science and AI at Linköping University in Sweden.
Ken's research builds a philosophical understanding of how science and technology grows out of the structures of human cognition. By tracing both back to a shared source, he questions the conventional separation between scientific practice and humanistic ideas about meaning and life. AI sharpens this argument: rather than existing separately from human intelligence, it is an extension of it. At Microsoft, Ken puts this thinking to work by developing software for safe, secure, and responsible AI.
In this webinar, Ken brings together the philosopher's questions and the practitioner's experience to ask what our fascination with machine intelligence reveals about the human person — and why a richer account of who we are is where responsible AI has to begin.
Join the LED, CIEP, and SACRU for an hour of dialogue at the intersection of philosophy, cognitive science, and emerging technology.
