The Institute for Political Studies welcomed yesterday the Council of Europe's Commissioner for Human Rights Meets with Students at the Institute for Political Studies for a special visit and meeting with faculty and students, creating an important moment of open dialogue on today’s key human rights challenges.
The session began with a conversation between the Commissioner and Professor Mónica Dias, Director of the IEP, who highlighted the importance of critical debate and human rights education within the broader context of European policy. This was followed by an open discussion with students, held in the Infante D. Henrique Room, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions, share reflections, and engage in a dynamic and enriching exchange.
The meeting was marked by strong student engagement and by the relevance and depth of the topics discussed, reinforcing the IEP’s commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for dialogue with leading international figures.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Commissioner for this inspiring visit and to all who contributed to making this event a valuable and memorable moment for our academic community.
