UCP Comunication
Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) is certified in its 4 campi (Lisbon, Porto, Braga and Viseu) with the COVID-SAFE verification seal attributed by the Portuguese Certification Association (APCER). This certification verifies that UCP fully complies with the guidelines issued by the Health General Directory (DGS), the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT) and the International Labor Organization (ILO) regarding safety and health procedures and practices in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
UCP developed the Safety Practices manual to be adopted by students, professors and employees, for a safe return to the campus. Check here the manual and implement these procedures because we are together for the safety of all! For more information, check the area COVID-19 – Information here.
IEP Comunication
Beginning of Academic Activities 2020/2021 with the presence of students at the Campus (Lisbon): Classes will work according to the timetable provided. Students will be distributed in 3 classes at the beginning of September. In weekly shifts, students will participate in classes in person and, alternately, through telematic means (according to the same timetable).
The Institute for Political Studies is implementing the replacement of the minimum face-to-face services that cannot be provided at distance, which will work on a prior booking basis, made to the following email (secretariado.iep@iep.lisboa.ucp.pt).

Applications for the BA Programme (1st phase), MA and PhD Programmes
The Institute for Political Studies registered in this 1st phase of applications for the BA Programme for the 2020/2021 academic year the largest number of candidates ever! Almost half of the admitted candidates will have an IEP Merit Scholarship (total and partial).
The IEP-UCP congratulates all those admitted!
Not admitted candidates automatically transition to the 2nd phase of applications.
IEP ALUMNI CLUB
The main objective of the IEP Alumni Club is to create lasting relationships by supporting the insertion in the job market, mentoring, collaboration among alumni, and through the organization of academic, cultural, social and recreational activities. It is our belief that this will contribute to the recognition of the IEP as an institution of excellence and the quality of its students.

"Palestra Anual Alexis de Tocqueville 1998-2018" (Alexis de Tocqueville Annual Lecture 1998-2018) Book
Essentially, the book brings together the Alexis de Tocqueville Annual Lectures, which began in 1998. These are formal ceremonies to award diplomas which are preceded by a lecture by a distinguished guest speaker and followed by a formal dinner.
The name Alexis de Tocqueville may not be widely known, but it was -and continues to be- a name that expresses with particular elegance and distinction the project dreamt by IEP-UCP: a project of university autonomy, of orderly and quiet defense of freedom, of refusal of what Tocqueville called a "sterile conflict between Old Regime and Revolution" or "perpetual oscillation between serfdom and abuse".
