3rd Edition | IEP Winter School

Monday, March 16, 2026 - 12:04
The 3rd Winter School in Political Theory, organized by the Institute for Political Studies, took place at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation on March 5, 6 and 7. This year’s edition was dedicated to the theme “Utopia and Dystopia.”

The initiative brought together around 50 undergraduate, master’s and PhD students, as well as IEP Faculty, for in-depth text analysis sessions and structured debates moderated by professors, following the guiding principle: “All participants are speakers.”

The reading booklet selected by the coordinating Professors, Orlando Samões and Carlos Marques de Almeida, included texts by authors as diverse as Shakespeare, Huxley, Bloch, Fukuyama, Popper, and Thomas More.
