Margarida Mano - Vice - Reitora da Universidade Católica Portuguesa
Margarida Mano holds a PhD in Management from the University of Southampton. She is currently Vice-Rector for Continuous Improvement and Development at the Portuguese Catholic University. She is also President of the General Assembly of FORGES (Forum for Higher Education Management in Portuguese-speaking Countries and Regions) and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Order of Engineers.
Minister of Education and Science in the XX Government of the Republic (2015) and Member of the Portuguese Parliament in the XIII Legislature (2015-2019), with responsibilities in the areas of Education, Higher Education, Science, Culture, Communication, Youth and Sport, and represented the Portuguese Parliament in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (AP UpM), where she chaired the Committee on Economy, Finance, Social Affairs and Education.
She has been Vice-Rector of the UCP since 2020, with responsibilities in the areas of Quality, Innovation and Development. She has held management roles at the University of Coimbra as Vice-Rector, Pro-Rector and Administrator (1996-2015) and in banking, at Millenium BCP and BPA (1987-1996).
She was a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and currently teaches at the Portuguese Catholic University in the areas of Economics (economic policy) and Management (strategic management, institutional evaluation, and quality management).
Her primary areas of scientific interest are Strategic Management (prospective analysis and scenarios), Change Management, and Quality and Governance Models. She has participated in various projects in these areas, namely as an EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) in the field of Education. Founding member of international university networks (RAUI; HUMANE and FORGES), Margarida Mano is the author of several publications (books and articles) in the fields of Strategic Planning and Governance.
Margarida Mano é doutorada em Gestão pela Universidade de Southampton. Atualmente, é Vice-Reitora para a Melhoria Contínua e Desenvolvimento da Universidade Católica Portuguesa. É também Presidente da Assembleia Geral do FORGES (Fórum para a Gestão do Ensino Superior nos Países e Regiões de Língua Portuguesa) e membro do Conselho Fiscal da Ordem dos Engenheiros.
Ministra da Educação e Ciência no XX Governo da República (2015) e deputada da Assembleia da República na XIII Legislatura (2015-2019), com responsabilidades nas áreas da Educação, Ensino Superior, Ciência, Cultura, Comunicação, Juventude e Desporto, e representou o Parlamento Português na Assembleia Parlamentar da União para o Mediterrâneo (AP UpM), onde presidiu à Comissão de Economia, Finanças, Assuntos Sociais e Educação.
É Vice-Reitora da UCP desde 2020, com responsabilidades nas áreas da Qualidade, Inovação e Desenvolvimento. Desempenhou funções de gestão na Universidade de Coimbra como Vice-Reitora, Pró-Reitora e Administradora (1996-2015) e na banca, no Millenium BCP e no BPA (1987-1996).
Foi Docente na Faculdade de Economia da Universidade de Coimbra e atualmente na Universidade Católica Portuguesa, nas áreas de Economia (políticas económicas) e Gestão (gestão estratégica, avaliação institucional e gestão da qualidade).
As suas principais áreas de interesse científico são Gestão Estratégica (análise prospetiva, cenários), Gestão da Mudança, Qualidade e Modelos de Governação. Participou em vários projetos nestas áreas, nomeadamente como EFQM (Fundação Europeia para a Qualidade na Gestão da Qualidade) no domínio da Educação. Membro fundador de redes universitárias internacionais (RAUI; HUMANE e FORGES), Margarida Mano é autora de várias publicações (livros e artigos) nas áreas do Planeamento Estratégico e Governação
