Telmo Faria holds a Master’s degree in History and is a researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, NOVA University of Lisbon. He served as Mayor of Óbidos between 2002 and 2013.

He is an author and speaker at numerous national and international initiatives focused on territorial innovation, and has been involved since 2008 in several projects in this field. Since 2004, he has been a Member of the Marketing Council of Turismo Centro de Portugal.

He is currently CEO and Founder of Carbono 21, Lda, the company behind the brands Rio do Prado, The Maker Man, and The Literary Man Óbidos Hotel.
