William Hasselberger is head of the MA in Governance Leadership and Democracy Studies at the Institute for Political Studies at the Universidade Católica Portugesa (UCP). William holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Virginia (USA). His research includes various topics at the intersection of moral philosophy, epistemology, the theory of human action and autonomy, and political theory.
William is also a Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture, at the University of Virginia, where he held a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from 2012-2016. His work has appeared in various international academic journals including The Pacific Philosophical Quarterly (2012), The Hedgehog Review (2012), Philosophy (2014), Utilitas (2015), Teaching Philosophy (2015), and he has papers forthcoming in The European Journal of Philosophy and Social Theory and Practice. William was born in Ankara, Turkey, and has lived in various parts of Europe and North America.
